George Paras

George Paras is a widely recognized mentor/coach, speaker, author, and thought leader in Strategy, Enterprise Architecture (EA), Portfolio Management, Organization and Governance. His unique mix of experience, creativity and insight combined with a pragmatic approach has made him a highly sought-after mentor trusted by senior IT Leaders from every industry and business segment. His clients rely on him for sensible advice on introducing, implementing, refining and sustaining these core management disciplines.

Mr. Paras is Managing Director at EAdirections, which he co-founded and operates with industry thought leader Tim Westbrock. Previously, he led the EA research area and provided IT Leadership coaching in his position as Director of the Enterprise Planning and Architecture Strategies group at META Group. He has also served as Vice President of Strategy at Troux Technologies, as the Senior Enterprise Architect at United Airlines, and held multiple leadership roles at IBM and several Silicon Valley start-up companies.

He served as Chairman of the long-running Enterprise Architectures Conferences (EAC), is a charter member of the SIM EA Working Group, and has co-authored chapters in two books, the “SIM Guide to Enterprise Architecture” and “Coherency Management”. He is also currently Editor-in-Chief of Architecture and Governance Magazine.

Holt Hackney is the Managing Editor and a contributing writer to Architecture and Governance Magazine. Hackney was formerly a staff writer a Financial World, a New York City-based magazine. He has also written for Florida Trend and Treasury and Risk Management magazines. Hackney was also the director of communications for HP’s Services & Solutions, a division of IPS.
