The O’Reilly Software Architecture Conference Set for February 23–26, 2020

If your practice as an enterprise architect (EA) intersects in any way with the software architecture space, the O’Reilly Software Architecture Conference in New York, which will take place February 23–26 at the Hilton Midtown, is a must-attend event.

Organizers note that software architecture is at the core of nearly every area of technology—and the breadth of knowledge required to be successful continues to expand. While companies need to leverage newer trends, they must also accommodate their legacy code and systems. This conference gives attendees the training to stay at the forefront of this ever-changing field.

The conference also offers a tremendous networking opportunity, since those EAs who are attending will join hundreds of other software architects, engineers, software developers, and tech leads.

Among the highlights of the event is Fundamentals of Software Architecture, a two-day training course with consultant Mark Richards, on February 23 and 24. CNN recently rated software architect the number one job in America. Yet no clear path exists for moving from developer to architect. Richards blends lecture and hands-on real-world group exercises to explore the many aspects of software architecture. You’ll learn various integration styles (and when to use them) as well as patterns to fit various business needs and requirements.

The full list of training courses can be found here.

Other conference highlights include:

  • One-Day Tutorials: Expert-led presentations on Monday, February 24
  • Architectural Katas: A team exercise where small groups work together on a project that needs development
  • O’Reilly Author Book Signings: A great opportunity for you to meet O’Reilly authors and speakers, and get a free, signed copy of one of their books
  • Meet the Experts: Sessions that give you a chance to meet with expert Software Architecture presenters face-to-face in a small group setting
