About the survey

The 2011 A&G Enterprise Architecture Industry survey was conducted between August 10 and August 17, 2011. Survey results represent 203 respondents from the readership of A&G magazine. Sixty-eight percent of respondents carry the title of chief of enterprise, business or technical architecture; 80% of respondents are from commercial organizations; 20% represent federal organizations; 50% of respondents report directly to the CIO or Office of the CIO; and 55% work for organizations reporting more than $1B in annual revenues.

About our speakers

George Paras serves as Editor-in-Chief of Architecture and Governance Magazine. He is also a widely recognized mentor/coach, speaker, author, and thought leader in Enterprise Architecture (EA), Strategy, Portfolio Management, Organization and Governance. He has worked with hundreds of companies, offering them practical advice on how to introduce, implement, refine and sustain these core management disciplines. He co-founded EAdirections, a firm specializing in mentorship of IT Leaders, with industry thought leader Tim Westbrock. Previously, George led EA research at META Group as Director of Enterprise Planning and Architecture Strategies and was Chairman of the long-running Enterprise Architectures Conferences (EAC).

Tim Westbrock is a leading authority on IT leadership, enterprise architecture (EA), enterprise portfolio management, governance, and organizational issues related to enterprise-level planning. He started EAdirections with former peers from the META Group in 2006. He has worked with 300+ companies in various industries and the public sector to mentor them in their approach to increasing the value of IT. He has advanced the state of the art of EA processes and was the driving force behind META Group’s EA research agenda and METAmethod – a best-practice transformation method for EA development. As a dynamic speaker, Tim is a frequent lecturer and educator at industry events and workshops. He has over 20 years experience in the IT industry as an analyst, consultant and architect.

Dave Baker is a PwC Principal and Proposition Leader for Strategy and Business Design. As a proposition leader, Dave specializes in Enterprise  Architecture, Dave creates enterprise architecture maturity plans for organizations and helps them develop business and technical blueprints to govern their strategic initiatives. Dave has 30 years of IT experience, including identifying leading-edge technologies, guiding innovation projects, defining strategies for applying technology, and leading architecture assessment and implementation efforts.
