In my last post, I discussed how the emergence of Internet technologies are driving down the cost to acquire, understand and act on information.  As a result, traditional processes for many enterprise architecture organizations are requiring a substantial rethinking of strategy.

In this post, we will explore new tools and light processes that traditional EA can use to take advantage of the emergence of Web 2.0 on the nature of today’s firm.

What Happens in Vegas Shouldn’t Stay in Vegas

IT Failures have been getting a lot of press recently:

A large health insurance company was reportedly banned by regulators from selling certain types of insurance policies in January of 2009 due to ongoing computer system problems that resulted in denial of coverage for needed medications and mistaken overcharging or cancelation of benefits. The regulatory agency was quoted as stating that the problems were posing "a serious threat to the health and safety" of beneficiaries.
